Expunging your criminal records in Washington is a three-step process:
1. Get Your Criminal History
You need to obtain a copy of your complete Washington criminal history record.
2. Request for Expungement
Once you have your criminal history, you can determine whether you are eligible for expungement.
If you are, you must mail a completed copy of the WSP Request for Expungement / Deletion of Non-Criminal Records to Washington State Patrol, Criminal History Records Section, P.O. Box 42633, Olympia, WA 98504-02633.
You do not have to pay for this request.
3. WSP Reviews Request
After reviewing your request, the Washington State Patrol will inform you of its decision via mail.
By law, WSP is the only state agency with the authority to expunge criminal arrest records.
